is it autocad???
autodesk

auto viz

autocad and autodesk

3ds max
etc etc etcc ....arghhhghghghg

Rolling Eyes so many!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so basicly which one is most preferable??

btw i am a first year Architect Student

I would have guessed AutoCad (anything with *.dwg extension) a few years ago, but nowadays, who knows. The most important issue is that other members of any team on a project (engineers, contractor, client) can swap files and dwgs...

Yeah, I would say basically everyone has a copy of AutoCad, even if they try to work on something else and convert their working dwgs back to *dwg.

I would love to see a poll...it's a good question.

I have used
AutoCad
Intelicad
Archi-Cad
Cheif Architect
Revit,
microstation
intergraph
Catia
and many others since the mid 1970's

AutoCad is still used in my office but will soon be replaced by AutoDesk Revit.

AutoCad is the closest to being an international standard in my opinion but that will change as other more economical choices are rapidly gaining market share.
