Hello.

I am a licensed fence contractor in California.
I get a lot of requests for decks.
I am new to this and would need a program that can create material lists with prices, that would show in easy to understand deck foundations and how to properly attach to a house, and can calculate weight loads and the material required to bear the weight. Maybe adding a hot tub to a deck.
I have basic carpenter skills, but need some help getting started in the deck building business.
My main concern is the foundation.

Thank you

Hi Fred,
I typed in "deck building software" to a search engine and got lots of hits.

I would say your best coarse is to explore those programs. Most of the cad programs will have a user forum where you can ask specific questions about it and also have reviews and that sort of thing.

Thanks Chris
I did a Google search and found a lot of software for a home owner. These were barebones. I need a program that can do all sorts of calculations.
Fred

The program I use is called Softplan it would most likely do a pretty good job on decks But is primarily for residential design.

sometime when you use search engine and type the keywords , you arre not going to hit what you really want with all the keywords maybe 2 to 3 are the keywords that comes into your mind..

why not try many keywords just this site had .. and see if what you are looking for is here ..

look for the keywords that contain deck building software

the second page is here for deck building software

good luck to you
