Aids and architecture
There seems to be at first no correlation between aids and architecture. Yet, if one were to take a closer look and understand that there is a conmen denominator between the two you might find some symbolism to work or of.
Many people have succumb to the deadly virus, one of my friends being one of them. Maybe, if you were so inclined, you could represent a type of architecture memorial that symbolizes the strength and will it takes to struggle against such a hard and frightful illness, and come up with an environment that can help people come to terms with the illness. You could have areas where one could read about athletes and famous leaders that have dealt with such things. Areas that could discuss the prevention process, discuss how through form one could be inspired and hopefully fight the illness.
I don’t know how far your thesis would go into the design of a particular space. I know that one design, albeit not a built form, but a design nonetheless is the famous quilts that a family does for a loved one that passes away from the illness. Maybe you could go into how if a family member could personalize there loved one into a part of a permanent built environment, or somehow memorialize that particular person through a visual media.
Anyway, keep us posted on what your thinking… |

I know of a student who did work on designing a mobile clinic to help those with AIDS. THe clinic was designed to fit a certain size vehicle or trailer, I don't remember which, so it was easy to transport. He met with some nurses and found out what type of supplies would be needed and came up with some cool concepts.
Good luck in your designing. |

architecture is related to anything & everything in life.whether it is aids or cancer or whatever architecture is related to that.
let me take ur eg. aids.
aids is one of the most deadly diseases on earth .death is almost sure when it comes.the dangerous part of it is that the aids virus attacks our defence mechanism .it can even affect
our genetic system.collect more and more informations about aids .know what it is correctly.
have good knowledge of the disease on humans and to the most HOW IT AFFECTED THE WORLD AND WHAT PICTURE THE WORLD HAS ABOUT IT .with these informations
form a picture of ur own about AIDS . now start working on forms or shapes that can express aids inthe most powerful way .aids is a disease for which cure has'nt been discovered yet.the only to get rid if it is PREVENTION.so give stress for ur forms or shapes that can terribly warn the people about its deadly after effects such that it can create a terrible sense of fear in a man who sees it .u can apply these forms or shapes for things like mobile clinics ,in ads ,billboards ,in message giving sculptors in public places etc. |
