I need to know, out of all the branches of science (e.g. biology, chemistry, astrology, etc...), exactally where architecture fits in.
Im guessing its something like physics or art sciences, but i havnt found any resources that will give me a direct answer.
If someone could give me a somewhat detailed catagory that it would fall under i would be very gratefull.

if your infering that it would be architecture you'e correct in a sence
but in the broad view science has three main catagories:
physical sciences
life sciences
and earth sciences
i know its under physical sciences and from there it would go into art sciences
i was just asking if i can get any more specific without saying that the branch of science that architecture falls under is architecture. _________________ scott |

Science can be defined as: The observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena. One of the things true science does not do is apply.
Art can be defined as: The conscious production or arrangement of sounds, colors, forms, movements, or other elements in a manner that affects the sense of beauty, specifically the production of the beautiful in a graphic or plastic medium
Architeture, as I understand it, is the application of many field of science and art. So, it would be incorrect to place it in any kind of science, or art alone. Architecture departments are often placed in engineering, Art, or other applied schools of thought rather then science. |

As you can see that Architecture means "Art+Tecnology" so as you can't keep tecnology in any of the science fields? then how can architecture be put somewhere.
We have three basic science branches
1) Physics
2) Chemistry
3) Biology
If you see carefully an Architect must have knowledge of allthe three.
1) Physics defines the streangth of the structure.
2) Chemistry explains the nature of the stucture.
3) Biology defines the psychological effect by the structure.
This is just a ting you can never take Architecture as one stream its a mixture of all. _________________ ......and miles to go before I sleep....... |
