Trying to pick up a 3d program. Does anyone have any suggestions on which program is more well-suited for architecture?
3d MAX from Discreet
or 3d VIZ from Autodesk
Thanks! |

3d max would probably be better because its better known, and therefore more programs would probably be compatible with it, i've never even heard of the other one , but you should search for some reviews and ratings, they always help. |

| If your doing Architecture Vis would be better overall because of its autocad bias. I use Max and it's a world unto its own!!! If you want to create life like images then there is nothing better than Max!!! But be prepared to spend a couple of yrs to master it!!! Max has'nt got the accuracy of vis! |

For me I use 3D Max. if your talking of accuracy it can be. To make it easy use AutoCAD the transfer to Max for accuracy. Good luck _________________ cad*composer |

using viz would be better if youre doing a still image or just a picture because of the time compare to max which i think is for animation and would take more time to render or create. but in terms of effect or resolution i believe they are pretty much the same. _________________ caloy |

i use animation in MAX for my design presentations,
max represents my thought 'bout the material, perspektif, lighting etc..
couple of years for mastering max?????
just couple of weeks
decide quickly.. you are going older&older _________________ _______________________________

max would be more appropriate if you want to add in effects or character animation. viz is more to architectural vizualization. however, whatever feature is in viz, you'll get in in max but at a cost. so, you need to think about what you want with your presentation. |
