I dont know if this is the right place to post this, so if not then i'm sorry. Anyways, I am doing senior project research for a very large aerospace company. They are interested in 3-d software for facility design/layout to help catch problems and/or errors. (Ex.-they did a layout of a facility and they placed all of their large machininery in the building. The sled of a ceiling crane didn't clear the top of a tall CNC machine when in operation). Problems like that. Software cost really isn't a factor as of right now (LARGE Aerospace company). Is 3d modeling/simulation software used heavily in industry? Which programs should I look into for recommendation (Needs to have simulation or aninmation)? Any good books? Thanks in advance for any help.
