Hi all,
It's been a few years, and I have lost track of this forum. Hope all the old crew is well, and there are lots of new players. I went from my own one man 60 hr/wk firm to a 2300 person 30 hr/wk PT employee type job. Its interesting, but I have to use a windoz OS at work - wow, do I love my Macs! My home office is still Mac based, and I still have the HP 500 PS. And there's the problem. I updated my wireless and network, so the better half could get better reception - she claims its critical to her happiness, and who am I to argue that. Now, I cannot print to the 500. I have installed the latest v. 4.0 driver from HP. When I go to the printer utility, I have choices, none of which include the 500. I can chose the 800, 5000, 5500, etc, but no 500.
Just wondering if anyone is able to print to the HP 500ps, and if so - how.
Thanks for any thoughts,
DYoung

Instead of getting no response, I thought I would at least give you some response.
I don't know how to help you except there was an updater from Apple for HP print drivers . Have you checked there?
It does list several HP 500 models as supported |

If you could connect directly to the wireless router via Ethernet that might allow printing from both connected and wired computers.
If you have a USB connection, like my Canon does, then wireless printing would be possible. Obviously, make sure that the printer driver is loaded on to each computer.
Also, bear in mind that some "wireless" routers do require a direct connection to a computer (AirPort Extreme does) for the purpose of upgrading firmware or other setup issues. _________________ John Cruet

| I don't have an answer for you as I have not faced such problem. I think you should discuss the matter with an expert. If you wish you can visit http://www.supportonclick.com. The staffs over there helped me a lot while I was facing a lot of trouble with my brand new canon printer s it was constantly producing bank pages. I think they are qualified enough to solve any kind of tricky job. You may seek their support. I hope they will be able to solve your problem. |
