I'm an architecture student based in Birmingham, UK and am doing a design project located in Downtown Los Angeles. I need to get hold of a digital/vector map of the area to use for some of my drawings. I've found websites that sell these maps but they are stupidly expensive. In the UK we have a service called Digimap that students can access for free where you can download digital maps of most of the UK. Does anyone know if there is a similar thing in the US and whether students can access it free??

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
