| I would describe the colors as bright hues of pastels or color washed. |

| gpgma is right. In my Caribbean Cruises I’ve only see color washed houses. I don’t know what kind of paint they are using, but all those pale colors were very calm and exotic. |

That's not accurate at all...the contemporary interpretation of carribean "feel" is to paint pastels...micmicking the faded colors of older buildings that were originally painted as bright as possible. A good source for inspiration is this book:
