use www.detail.de, you can get the details from all the projects in their magazine as pdfs. They have a banner across them to stop you just stealing them, though I *imagine* those to present few problems to those capable of using the necessary software for disassembling pdf. I've seen someone do it with a basic pdf password-cracker program and Adobe Illustrator.

I didn't specify a project! They have hundreds on that site, and you can search by whatever takes your fancy, be that material, building type, location, etc.

I've always found the best precedent studies are one's you are interested in. Then you can carry some of what caught your design as inspiration for an upcoming project.

you're actually better off if you want to get a few details (e.g. roof, foundations, walls, partitions, windows, etc) buying one of their books as what they charge for a pdf of a single detail is about 1/3 - 1/4 the cost of one of the indetai books. or get a student subscription to the magazine - there are some reasonable deals available. i like detail a lot but i think the price they charge on a per detail pdf is far too pricey compared to the magazine and their books.
