| now, im a student of civil engineering. but after my graduation, i prefer to learn sth architecture. and i still know little about what exactly archtect is and what is the architecture. i believe all the people on this forum can show me the truth. and it is so kind of u to recommend some books or professors in this field. |

After being in school for Civil... you sure would have a nice long haul for architecture. Grad program would be a little over 3 years... then interning would be another 3 years.
Civil background sure wouldn't hurt though.
If you want to take a look at some good architecture books, follow my link and click on Online Store. I have opened it up with good Arch books in front... I would find them, then "PREVIEW"... instead of flat out buying... it will save you a good amount of money. You should get some good ideas from the introductions.
In particular... search out the professional practice books... Arch school wants to make the profession only about design... but it's just as much business as design (often-times even more business!)
