Hi guys!

I have one simple question! I am a mechanical engineer so I can use 3d modeling programs like catia, autocad and others pretty well, but i dont know which program i sould use to design a 3d model of our house and then make a VIRTUAL tour through it! There is some more! Not only i would like to make a virtual tour, but it must also look realistic with furniture included!

which program sould i use?

Thanx!

Hi,
No time to make it real lengthy. But you can use architectural desktop or 3D Max. these are the softwares i use for the kind of work you mentioned.

ciao

ufo;

I would suggest using Architectual Desktop with Viz Render and AccuRender plugins installed. The only down side, is you can't render individual joists or studs. But I don't think that is what you are after anyhow. So go with Architectual Desktop with the plugins. Then once rendered, put it into 3DS. Makes for awsome walkthroughs. Thats what my company uses, for the most part.

I would recommend 3ds max 8 with a v-ray renderer. the v-ray plugin is highly available when inputted to any search engine.
Architectural materials are also quite good for selecting accurate attributes such as light refraction and transparency.
RPC's allow you to make people walk, stand and sit and cars drive around your buildings. A free plugin is available at www.archvision.com. The RPC's themselves are more pricey.
